BROOKLYN, Mich. -- With some of the competition hyping her up as a potential contender Saturday in the Nationwide race, Danica Patrick was asked about expectations of her and when she might them.

Her answer: “Never”

“There’s a million expectations. It’s not about what everyone thinks,” she said. “It’s about how my team and I are working together and what we hope for and our goals. Expectations are just a point of conversation.”

Danica ran well in all the Nationwide practices today, but her practice speeds don’t always translate to good finishes; in fact, it’s pretty rare. So if she does do well tomorrow in the race, she will be a little closer to meeting some of those expectations, which I suspect she does care about a little bit, despite what she said.
